Hello VALOR Fam!
Another month closer to World of Warcraft: The War Within and the Skyline Update for Fallout 76! We hope everyone is as excited as we are. This month, we are focused on community feedback and dedicating our time to ensuring we are on the path the community wants for the future of VALOR.
We have updated our vision and core values to align with our aspirations for the community. You can view these on our About Us page here. We are also working on updating the website, our socials, and the community Discord to be more user friendly and consistent. Over time, we will be updating our history page with detailed timelines of our community accomplishments, overhauling our “join” page, a dedicated Warcraft Teams page with information on the teams and how to join, a media gallery to showcase our meetups and events, and much more.
If you have not done so yet, please fill out the community feedback form here. Your feedback is crucial as we continue to grow and focus on the needs of the community. You will also be entered to win a $50 gift card for participating with your Discord ID.
To further ensure that our goals and vision are realized, we will be meeting with VALOR leadership to evaluate current roles and needs. We plan to establish unique teams for each section of VALOR, allowing us to dedicate the necessary time and attention to every aspect of our community. Over the next few months, as we focus on strengthening the community’s foundation, please feel free to reach out to us via DM or mod ticket with any questions, comments, or concerns.
We are excited to announce our expansion into Fallout 76! As with everything, we have high standards for this new branch of VALOR, and as such, we are dedicated to establishing a strong core leadership team. If you’re interested in being involved with the 76 team please open a mod ticket and let us know!
If you play Warcraft Rumble the guild currently has 5 open positions. The guild is has successfully completed each season earning each reward from every season so far. Please send a message in the Discord under the Warcraft Rumble section if you would like an invite.
We were thrilled to receive an invitation from our partners at Stack Up for a tour of the Blizzard Studios in Irvine, California. VALOR members prawfeT, eSkilliam, and ShanghaiSix had the incredible opportunity to meet with developers and explore everything Blizzard has to offer alongside other Stack Up members. From custom Starbucks menus themed around Blizzard games, to pets being allowed at work, to stunning artwork, the Blizzard campus exceeded all expectations!
In additional Stack UP News; VALOR is currently participating in the Stack Up Call to Arms charity drive. You can show your support for VALOR and Stack UP by donating here.
Stack Up brings both veterans and civilian supporters together through a shared love of video gaming through our primary programs: The Stacks, Supply Crates, Air Assaults, and the Stack Up Overwatch Program.
What is Call To Arms?
“Call To Arms is Stack Up’s year-long donation focus that fuels our mission of using the awesome power of video games to support US and allied veterans, as well as active duty service members around the world! Our fundraising is driven by content creators who want to make a difference in the lives of those who serve their country. In the past, we have seen streamers and their communities come together to raise support for our mission in diverse and incredible ways. Each year, top supporters are memorialized on our Wall of Heroes.”
Congratulations to SicMinion on leading the team and on his initial $250 goal being smashed on his 12 hour fundraising stream! Much like those donation pies in the face!
Moving into The War Within, our official teams are a great place for those looking for a competitive space in either Raiding, Mythic+ or PvP.
We are working with team captains to ensure that all players on each team understand that joining one of the official progression teams is a commitment and you are dedicated to the full season unless something critical comes up. Respecting each others time and effort is a must.
The goal for official teams is to provide an opportunity for our members who wish to compete at a higher, more organized level. Teams will set seasonal goals and work together with a consistent roster to reach those goals. As such, teams are to be treated as esports teams, representing VALOR professionally and putting the team first. Official teams provide the atmosphere for those who wish to take their competitive WoW journey to the next level.
VALOR Academy is actively expanding its mentorship team and organizing engaging events. Sharing their wealth of knowledge with members and aiding them in enhancing their comfort on their World of Warcraft journey.
We have also added a new section called “🏫│𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦-𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗧 ” under the VALOR Academy category in Discord. Allowing you to post guides, tips, ask questions and discuss each class.
Please note: you can request help from a mentor by opening an Academy ticket in Discord by clicking the channel “🏫│𝗥𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧-𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 “ and clicking open request.
If you’re interested in becoming a Mentor, please open a Mod Ticket in Discord.
Academy co-lead Butdidyoudie32 (Zack) also leads weekly open community normal raids every Monday night at 9PM ET. The event is streamed on his Twitch channel and is a great way to learn the raid and meet more community members. Everyone is welcome to participate in this casual and welcoming event! Be sure to sign up in the “🧙│𝐖𝐨𝐖-𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦” Discord channel!
We are excited to welcome Spechul_K to the VALOR Gaming Stream Team.
