Hello, VALOR peeps! Big things have happened this week for VALOR! Hardcore Classic official servers will be dropping on Thursday and VALOR is READY! Keep your eye out in the announcements for what realm we will be choosing to establish VALOR! We are happy to inform you that we are closing in on 500 guild members. How incredible is that?! With our community quickly growing, VALOR is looking for new members of staff. As August is quickly coming to a close, so is this month’s Transmog Contest! Final submissions are due by 9:00 PM EST on August 31st and voting will begin on September 1st. The theme is ‘VALOR Logo Replica’! Meaning: Using the VALOR logo as a reference, try to replicate it as best you can! You can post your transmog entry in the SCREENSHOTS section of Community Chat in Discord! At the top of the page, you’ll see a Hashtag (#) titled ‘Threads’ that has a subcategory specifically for your August Transmogs. We have some GREAT entries so far, don’t miss your chance to be in the running to win in-game gold!

VALOR Silver Raid Team is actively looking for a full-time Raid Leader.

Responsibilities for this role include managing the roster, forming raid team 15 minutes prior to raid start time, leading raid team during fights and explaining fight mechanics where necessary and adjusting calls and strats as per the needs of the fight.

Expectations for this role include but are not limited to discussing any changes for the team with the Progression Director, requesting for assistance for materials and raid supplies for the benefit of the raid team, maintaining notes on the current status of the team and discussing with the Progression Director. Requirements include dedicating time to understanding raid roles and strats. Stay calm and relaxed in a high stress environment. Work well with others. Keep up team morale and energy. Being open to criticism from both the raid team as well as leadership.

This role requires good leadership and communication skills. It will not be an easy role to fill and will require time and effort being put in constantly to maintain a proper raid team.

VALOR Silver is a more casual environment but it is by no means a team that will be taken lightly. This position will be held to the same standard as the VALOR Blue raid lead position. If you are interested, please contact Fel with any questions or to schedule an interview.

On the subject of raiding as a whole, Pharma has announced that, going forward, he will be hosting a normal run of Aberrus. This will take place on the weekend and will be geared towards teaching and making the raiding experience available our newer members who otherwise may not have the chance to see the raid other than LFR.

This is a community wide town hall for you to meet your officer team, get an understanding of each of their roles and responsibilities, as well as hear about what we have been up to and the future of VALOR. We can’t wait to see you there!

Discord Updates

We’ve created a new “Custom voice” section ⁠➕│𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗟 that works the same way as the Warcraft ⁠🧙│𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗩𝗢𝗜𝗖𝗘 channel.

⁠❔│𝗛𝗢𝗪-𝗜𝗧-𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗦. Start: Click the ⁠➕│𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗟 button. Result: You’ll enter a new channel.
Outcome 1: A voice channel is made just for you, and you’ll be moved there automatically. Outcome 2: A text channel is also created for you. Important Note: Remember, these channels are public, so anyone can see them. End: When everyone leaves the channels, they will be deleted automatically.

This is a work in progress and over the next several weeks we will be testing new features so please use the 📤│𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞／𝗦𝗨𝗚𝗚𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 channel to let us know what works, what doesn’t, and any ideas you may have.

Shoutout this week to Capt_Bumi!

Who is Capt_Bumi?

I’m Bumi, your friendly neighborhood retribution paladin. In November, I’ll be turning 30, but I’m still salty about not being picked to be the mascot in high school. Currently, I play an IRL driving simulator for work; the graphics are nice, but the controls leave something to be desired. I was born and raised in Ohio, but I’ve been trying to escape for years. My best buddy is a 10lb Pomeranian named Tenzin; he’s 4 years old and a very good boy. At one point in my life, I was a competitive boomerang thrower; the biggest highlight of my boomerang-throwing career was winning the open division at the 2015 US national championship. I’m beyond ecstatic to have found and been welcomed into the VALOR community. VALOR has something for everyone, whether you’re a new player or a veteran, someone who engages in PVE or PVP. The members of the VALOR community make everything more fun and feel like family. If you see me in-game or in the VALOR Discord, feel free to say hey or ask for help!
