Meet VALOR: recon108
Hello there! I’m recon108 but IRL my name is Gerald or Jerry. I’m a Canadian Prairie Person living in Saskatchewan. It’s nice to meet you!
I met Jette_Stream, back then JetJunkie, about three and a half years ago while browsing through Fallout 76 Twitch Streamers and looking for info on Fallout 76 and wether or not it was worth buying. It was through her stream I met prawfeT, Ruthless, Sparky, GMT (GameMasterTwig – Calm Down GMT), TheOneWhoCutsTheCheese (the #1 deli clerk), and many others, and I’ve been friends with ever since, and I love them all!
I’ve been part of the VALOR Discord and Community since it’s inception and I’m very proud to be part of this great group of gamers. I was in Voice Chat when the name was settled on and, being Canadian, I asked if it would be spelled ‘VALOUR’, to which prawfeT swiftly answered with a ‘No’. I was also part of the very first VALOR Stream Team, back when VALOR wasn’t a World of Warcraft focused community. I’ve been a supporter of VALOR and it’s members and don’t intend to quit doing that. I’ve always done my best to be there for my friends and fellow community members and will continue to be until the end!
I LOVE LEGO! I’m heavy into LEGO Star Wars, but I’ll buy and build any LEGO set that catches my fancy! In fact, I got my start in streaming on Twitch because of Jette’s nudging and support and have been streaming LEGO builds ever since! I had taken a bit of a break from streaming, but now I’m back and I’m building and gaming with a small but growing following of my own! I’ve also been, very generously, ‘Grandfathered’ into the VALOR Community Streamers role, which again, I am very proud to be part of!
I’m the Graphic Designer for VALOR. I’ve been a Graphic Designer for many years. I got my start with Photoshop way back in 1998ish and Illustrator in 2001! Both of these programes are the loves of my life and the ones I have the most experience with. I’ve been tinkering with Adobe After Effect on and off for many many years (mostly off) but recently I’ve found it necessary to, use and learn it, a lot more. After Effects is challanging, rewarding, frustrating and fun, and I hope to only get better at using it. I’m also more than happy to lend a hand to anyone needing graphics work for various needs. My DMs are always open to VALOR members!
I’ve been gaming for as long as I can remember, going all the way back to my family’s very first computer, the Commodore Vic-20 (very very early 80s)! I remember my mom, dad, brother and I sitting in front of our giant cabinet TV with this band new Vic-20 set up, popping in a Pac Man clone into the casette tape player, and waiting for the game to load! I’ve been playing computer games ever since. Through the years I’ve been gaming on the Vic-20, Commodore 64, NES, Commodore Amiga, iMac, and now on the PC. I’ve personally researched and built every PC I’ve ever gamed on.
While on World of Warcraft I use my first and favorite character, my level 70 Tauren Paladin Tank! I don’t play as much as I should, but I’m trying to put more time into it! I love First Person Shooters, Open World Games, and Survival Crafting Games, but my taste in games aren’t bound to just those three types. I’m currently playing Enshrouded, Nightingale and The Brew Barons.

Recon one zero eight is a fellow Canadian prairie person and one of my best friends! I’ve known recon for over three years now and I can tell you with confidence that he’s one of the kindest and supportive people I’ve ever met. As a LEGOs enthusiast, his LEGO streams are always so interesting. He is always supporting VALOR and our community in any possible way he can and we love and appreciate him so much!
