VALOR Community Rules & Guidelines

Our community focus is to build and maintain a positive, welcoming, and friendly environment where every individual feels secure to express themselves, enjoy their gaming experience, and comfortably exchange ideas, thoughts, and feedback.

At VALOR, our mission is to remain steadfast in our commitment to embodying our core values of Community, Respect, Inclusivity, Leadership, and Support. Our mission is to foster a vibrant and inclusive gaming environment where every individual feels a sense of belonging and safety.

We believe in the power of teamwork, mutual respect, and a shared passion for gaming to drive our community forward. Our dedication to inclusivity means that regardless of beliefs, lifestyle, or preferences, everyone is welcomed and valued as long as they align with our community’s values of respect and equality.

We believe it’s essential to outline our guidelines and approach to addressing issues to maintain transparency. While we aim for consistency, each situation is unique and handled on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the severity and context.

General Rules & Guidelines

  1. We have zero tolerance for sexual harassment, verbal or physical harassment, sexism, racism, hate speech, or any other form of toxic behavior. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, offensive comments, inappropriate images, intimidating actions, or unwelcome sexual advances.
  2. Arguments and disputes should be handled privately and respectfully, away from the community, and escalated to leadership if necessary. If any conflict or toxic behavior disrupts the community, leadership will intervene, and further issues may result in removal or a ban.
  3. Be Patient and Understanding: Remember that everyone has their own struggles and challenges that may not be visible. Exercise patience and empathy in your interactions, as you may not know what someone else is going through. Avoid jumping to conclusions or reacting harshly, and always strive to create a supportive environment for others. A little kindness can go a long way.
  4. Respect Different Opinions: Everyone is entitled to their own perspective, and it’s crucial to honor that right, even if you don’t agree. Avoid belittling or dismissing others based on their opinions. Disagreements should never devolve into personal attacks or hostility. Respect is key to fostering a positive and inclusive community.
  5. Be Inclusive and Welcoming: Every member, new or seasoned, should feel valued and included within the community. Make an effort to involve everyone, regardless of skill level, interests, or background. Take the time to welcome newcomers and help them find their place. Avoid forming cliques or excluding others, as no one should feel left out or ignored. Creating an inclusive environment is essential for building a strong, supportive community where everyone has a sense of belonging.
  6. Maintain Respectful Humor: As a community of mature adults, we encourage everyone to enjoy memes, jokes, and light-hearted interactions. While adult humor is acceptable, it’s essential to recognize the boundaries of what is appropriate. Always be mindful of the tone of the conversation and consider the comfort levels of others. Avoid humor that targets race, gender, sexuality, religion, or any other sensitive topics that could make people feel uncomfortable or excluded. It’s important to read the room and assess how your humor may be perceived. If a joke or comment crosses the line, you may be asked to remove it. Take this as an opportunity to better understand what is considered respectful within the community. This isn’t about policing humor but rather ensuring that everyone can have fun without feeling hurt or marginalized. Respect these guidelines to help us maintain a positive and inclusive space for all members.
  7. VALOR encourages social interaction and community-building, and we understand that friendships and even romantic relationships may naturally form within the guild. Any relationship—whether friendly, romantic, or otherwise—should be pursued with mutual respect and an understanding that it will not interfere with the overall guild dynamic.
  8. Use Appropriate Names, Avatars, and Profiles: Avoid using offensive or inappropriate profile and character names, bios, or avatars. While meme names and mild innuendo may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, anything that crosses into racism, harassment, abusive language, or other inappropriate content will not be tolerated. If your name, profile, or avatar is deemed to violate these standards, you may be asked to change it or risk being removed from the community. Keep it fun, but always respectful.
  9. No Poaching or Unapproved Promotion: Recruiting for other Discords, communities, guilds, or businesses is strictly prohibited. Any form of poaching or unauthorized promotion is not allowed. Streamers should promote channels via 🔔│𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗠-𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗦 channel.  If you are wanting to promote your work, content, charity, or fundraiser please ask a mod.
  10. By participating in the VALOR GAMING Discord, you acknowledge and agree that VALOR GAMING LLC reserves the right to use, share, or feature any content created, shared, or posted within our community channels—including streams, screenshots, artwork, written posts, and videos—across our social media platforms and on our official website, vlrgaming.com. We will give proper credit to creators and respect the intellectual property of others.

Politics & Religion

  1. Avoid Political and Religious Discussions: To maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment, we ask that members refrain from engaging in discussions related to politics or religion. These topics can be highly divisive and may lead to discomfort or conflict within the community. Our goal is to create a space where everyone feels relaxed and connected without the tension that such conversations can bring. If these discussions arise, kindly redirect the conversation or move it to a private setting.
  2. We acknowledge that these global topics are important and deserve discussion. However, this space is meant for relaxing, hanging out, and enjoying video games. Our focus is on creating an environment where members can escape, connect, and have fun together.

Voice & Chat Etiquette

  1. Ensure all discussions in voice or chat channels remain civil, respectful, and on-topic. Moderators may ask you to move your conversation if needed.
  2. Guidelines for Posting Memes: Memes are welcome and encouraged as long as they contribute positively to the community atmosphere. However, all memes must adhere to community standards and should never include content that is offensive or harmful to any individual or group. mild innuendo and jokes are acceptable however avoid posting memes that touch on topics such as racism, sexism, hate speech, politics, religion, violence, or death. If a meme could potentially be seen as hurtful or divisive, it’s best not to share it. Moderators reserve the right to remove any content deemed inappropriate and may issue warnings or take further action if necessary. Keep the humor light, inclusive, and appropriate for all community members.
  3. Prohibited Content: No Piracy, Illegal, or Sexual Material: Sharing or discussing pirated software, illegal content, or any material that violates copyright laws is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, sharing links to pirated games, software cracks, unauthorized streaming sites, or any other content that infringes on intellectual property rights. Additionally, the sharing or posting of sexual, pornographic, or explicit material is not allowed under any circumstances. This includes images, videos, links, or any other form of adult content. Our community must remain a safe and lawful environment for all members.
  4. No Sharing False or Misleading Information or Impersonation: It is essential to maintain trust and honesty within the community. Do not share false, misleading, or deceptive information. Additionally, impersonating other members, staff, public figures, or any individual with the intent to deceive or create confusion is strictly prohibited. Always aim to communicate truthfully.
  5. Streaming Etiquette in Voice Channels: Streaming in a general voice channel requires the consent of all participants before you go live. Always notify everyone in the call that you are streaming, regardless of the channel or context. Some members may not be comfortable being broadcasted, and it’s essential to respect their boundaries. If a participant does not consent, refrain from streaming in that channel or find an alternative solution. Failure to obtain proper permissions can result in restrictions or removal from the channel. Transparency and consideration are key to ensuring a positive experience for all community members.
  6. No engaging in “back-seat gaming” or any interruptions while in game or channels with other members, unless the other person has asked for help.
  7. Manage Open Mics and Background Noise: Be considerate of others by keeping background noise and open mics under control. An open mic that picks up excessive noise, such as loud music, TV sounds, shouting, or other distractions, can be disruptive and diminish the experience for everyone in the channel. Use push-to-talk or mute your microphone if you’re in a noisy environment. This includes situations where eating, using a loud keyboard, or having other people talking nearby can be heard. If asked to adjust your settings, please do so promptly. Maintaining clear and distraction-free communication helps create a better environment for all members.
  8. Be respectful when joining a call with other members that may be doing content together and need to focus and be mindful that having multiple conversations could be distracting during such times. Those running dungeons, or competitive content should be using the 🧙│𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗩𝗢𝗜𝗖𝗘 temporary channels.
  9. Maintain Composure in Voice Channels: Aggressive behavior, such as fighting or raging, is not tolerated. If this occurs, you will be immediately removed from the call to prevent further disruption and the matter will be addressed privately with leadership. We want voice channels to be a space for productive and positive interactions. Step away or take breaks as needed.

In-Game Guidelines

  1. All community rules & guidelines also apply to in-game chats.
  2. No Toxicity in Games – Lead by Example: Toxic behavior, such as blaming teammates, raging, or lashing out in frustration, is strictly prohibited. Everyone is at a different skill level, and some may be new to the game or still learning the ropes—this is perfectly fine and should be met with patience and understanding. As a member of the community, you represent VALOR and should always strive to set a positive example. Instead of reacting negatively, use these moments to uplift your teammates: make constructive suggestions, explain game mechanics, and encourage improvement. Creating a positive environment builds camaraderie and fosters a better experience for everyone involved. If issues arise, take a deep breath, focus on what can be done better, and always approach the situation with a mindset of support and growth. Remember, a true leader stands out not just by skill, but by the way they treat others.
  3. No Toxicity Toward Game Developers or Development Teams: We understand that not every game or update will meet everyone’s expectations, but it’s important to show respect and appreciation for the hard work that developers put into creating the games we enjoy. Negative comments, insults, or toxic rants aimed at developers, their teams, or game updates are not allowed. Developers are people too, and their work brings us countless hours of entertainment. If you have concerns or suggestions about a game’s mechanics, features, or direction, approach it constructively. Consider offering positive and actionable feedback directly to the developers through appropriate channels, such as official forums, social media, or support tickets. Better yet, if you’re passionate about game development, check out their careers page and explore how you can contribute. Remember, as gamers, we are here to support and uplift the industry that creates the worlds we love to immerse ourselves in.
  4. Members are prohibited from charging for services, “carries,” or any other in-game assistance within the community unless explicitly approved by senior leadership. All interactions involving compensation must adhere to community guidelines and reflect our core values of integrity, teamwork, and fair play. Unauthorized selling, bartering, or advertising paid services is strictly prohibited

Community Events

  1. Community Events Participation – Open to All Eligible Members: VALOR community events, including raids, PvP, and Mythic+ runs, are open to all members who meet the necessary level and gear requirements. We encourage participation from anyone within the community, regardless of skill level or experience, but please be mindful of event-specific requirements set by the event organizers or team leaders. If you’re unsure whether you meet the requirements or have questions, feel free to reach out to the event leader beforehand. We want everyone to have the opportunity to participate, learn, and grow.
  2. Community Events – Focus on Fun, Learning, and Growth: Open community events are specifically designed to provide members not on official teams with an opportunity to engage in content, earn gear, and learn in a supportive environment. These events are not meant for serious competitive progression but rather for everyone to enjoy the game and grow together. Patience and respect are key, as team leaders may take additional time to explain strategies, answer questions, and guide newer players through mechanics.
  3. During these events, only the designated team leaders should be providing instructions, unless they specifically ask someone else to contribute. Talking over the leaders, interrupting explanations, or offering unsolicited advice can cause confusion and disrupt the learning process. Additionally, trolling, griefing, or using soundboards and other distracting tools are strictly prohibited.
  4. Community events are meant to be a time to have fun, learn, and collaborate. However, when leaders are explaining strategies or when the encounters begin, it’s essential to keep communication clear, focused, and relevant to the activity. Respect the time and effort of everyone involved, and help ensure that these events remain positive and productive experiences for the entire community.

Loot & Items

  1. Respect In-Game Loot Systems and Player Decisions: When participating in groups outside of official VALOR teams, loot is always handled according to the in-game systems. If another player receives a drop or win, the item is considered theirs, and they have the freedom to use, trade, or keep it as they see fit. Complaining, pressuring others to give up their loot, or creating conflict over items is not acceptable. Respect the game’s mechanics and the choices of your fellow players. Maintaining a positive attitude, even in less-than-ideal situations, is key to preserving a fun and supportive environment for everyone. VALOR leadership is not going to compensate or argue with you about your pixels.
  2. Official VALOR Teams – Loot Distribution: For official VALOR teams, loot distribution is managed at the discretion of the team leaders. Some leaders may use addons, charts, or other tracking systems to determine what is best for the team’s overall progression. Team members are expected to respect these decisions, understanding that the goal is to optimize the group’s success. Any disputes or concerns about loot should be addressed privately with the team leader, not in public or during team activities. Trust the process and focus on working together to strengthen the team.

Teams Etiquette

  1. Official VALOR Teams – Professional Conduct and Commitment: VALOR’s official teams are competitive, high-level groups designed to foster a dedicated environment for players striving to excel in major tournaments and global rankings. Team members are expected to represent VALOR with the utmost professionalism, both in-game and out, maintaining a positive and respectful attitude at all times. As part of an elite group, it’s essential to put the team first, prioritize shared goals, and demonstrate unwavering dedication to excellence. Poor sportsmanship, internal conflict, or any behavior that undermines the team’s success will not be tolerated. Remember, every action reflects on the team and the VALOR community as a whole.
  2. Team Transfers and Commitments: If you are currently part of an official VALOR team and wish to step down or join a different team, you must first have a discussion with your current team leader. Team-hopping is not permitted, as it disrupts team dynamics and undermines stability. Changes in team placement should be handled professionally and with transparency. If you have questions or concerns about your current team placement or potential transfers, please reach out to a member of leadership for guidance. Maintaining clear communication and mutual respect is key to ensuring the success and cohesion of all teams.
  3. Teams are not friend groups or cliques. Teams are needed to ensure VALOR is competitive in the world rankings. Check out this great article from raiderIO by clicking here.
  4. By participating in an official VALOR competitive team, you consent to being featured in streams as stated in the Official Team Agreement, accessible through team leaders. Joining an official team’s voice channel or live stream channel constitutes consent to being streamed.

Representing VALOR

Represent VALOR With Integrity – In-Game and Beyond: As a member of VALOR, your actions reflect not just on yourself, but on the entire community, whether you’re interacting in-game, on social media, or in other gaming spaces. Engaging in behaviors such as rage quitting, being toxic to other players, or participating in negative conduct—whether inside or outside our community—is strictly prohibited. This includes interactions in other groups, pug (pick-up) groups, or public forums.

Remember that every interaction is an opportunity to showcase the positive values of VALOR. If reports of toxic behavior, harassment, or unsportsmanlike conduct reach us, leadership will review the situation and take appropriate action, which may include warnings, restrictions, or removal from VALOR. We expect our members to maintain high standards and demonstrate respect and maturity at all times. Lead by example and show what it truly means to be a part of VALOR.

No-Drama Policy

  1. No Drama Policy – Keep the Community Positive and Productive: VALOR maintains a strict no drama policy to ensure a positive and enjoyable environment for all members. Drama includes but is not limited to: spreading rumors, instigating conflicts, creating divisions, passive-aggressive behavior, and any form of toxic or disruptive interactions that detract from the community’s spirit. Whether it involves in-game issues, personal disputes, or disagreements within teams, these matters should be handled privately and maturely.
  2. If you experience an issue with another member, address it calmly and respectfully in a one-on-one setting, or involve leadership if mediation is needed. Publicly airing grievances, rallying others to take sides, or escalating a situation will not be tolerated and may lead to immediate disciplinary action. We are here to game, have fun, and support each other—let’s keep our focus on building a strong, united community. If drama or conflict arises, stay level-headed, approach it constructively, and remember to uphold the values of VALOR at all times.
  3. Remove yourself from the situation and report to leadership as needed.

Handling & Processes

VALOR leadership strives for consistency, but each situation is evaluated individually, considering the severity of the issue and the overall context. All investigations will be managed by our dedicated HR team to ensure fair and thorough handling. Leaders will be removed from handling situations if they are part of the same friend group or have a personal relationship with those involved.

In most cases, a member of leadership may reach out to ask you to remove a post or provide guidance on a conversation that may have made others uncomfortable. We understand that no one is perfect, and we don’t expect you to be. In a community of thousands, it’s natural that not everyone will be friends or get along. However, we do expect everyone to remain respectful at all times. If approached with feedback, we simply ask that you acknowledge it and ensure it doesn’t happen again. It really is that straightforward.

In extreme cases involving racism, hate speech, or targeting specific groups based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, or other personal characteristics, immediate removal from the community will typically occur.

We are a community of adults, and our moderation team consists of dedicated volunteers who already work full-time jobs and still commit additional hours each day to support VALOR’s growth. It is not our responsibility to teach anyone how to behave respectfully. Ultimately, we’re all here to connect with others and enjoy playing video games together.

Report any harassment or behavior to a member of leadership or via 👮│𝗠𝗢𝗗-𝗥𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧 right away that needs to be made aware of and/or addressed to ensure the safety and happiness of the entire community.

Bans & Warnings

Warnings are documented according to the severity and frequency of the behavior. If a moderator contacts you, they will explain the issue and provide guidance on how to avoid similar problems in the future. Minor incidents may be addressed informally, with a reminder to be mindful going forward. However, repeated instances will escalate to an official warning, which will be noted internally.

If the behavior persists after an official warning has been issued, further disciplinary actions will follow. This may include temporary removal from activities, revocation of privileges, or permanent removal from our in-game guilds and a ban from the Discord community. Our goal is to correct the behavior before it reaches this stage, but repeated offenses show a lack of respect for community standards. Remember, warnings are an opportunity to improve, and each member is expected to learn from them to maintain a positive environment.

VALOR reserves the right to remove any member from groups, Discord channels, or in-game guilds if they are found to be in violation of our community guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, engaging in toxic behavior, disrespecting others, or failing to adhere to the rules set forth in our code of conduct. Membership in VALOR is a privilege, not a right, and maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere is our top priority.

If a violation occurs, leadership will review the situation and take action as needed. Depending on the severity and frequency of the offense, this could range from a temporary removal from events or groups to a permanent ban from our community spaces. We strive to handle all matters fairly and consistently, but it is ultimately our responsibility to ensure the safety and enjoyment of everyone in the community. Please respect the guidelines and contribute positively to help build a stronger, more inclusive environment for all members.

VALOR GAMING LLC takes misconduct, abuse, harassment, and any illegal activities very seriously. We reserve the right to report any instances of such behavior, concerns, or other violations of the law to the appropriate authorities whenever deemed necessary. This includes, but is not limited to, evidence of harassment, threats, abuse, illegal activities, self-harm, suicide threats, or any behavior that poses a risk to the safety and well-being of our members or the community at large.

Note that any form of transphobic, sexist, racist, or gender-discriminatory remarks will result in an immediate and permanent ban, without exceptions.

Any actions that result in disciplinary measures—such as warnings, suspensions, or bans—from other gaming communities, guilds, or in violation of the game’s Terms of Service (TOS) may result in immediate review by VALOR leadership.

Appeals

if you believe a warning was issued in error or would like to discuss it further, you have the right to appeal. To initiate the process, please open a moderator ticket through discord, providing any relevant details or context regarding the situation. A member of our team will review your request and reach out to you for further discussion. The appeal process is intended to ensure fair handling and allow members to share their perspective. Please remain respectful and patient throughout the process, as our team will take the time to carefully assess your appeal and respond accordingly.

If you have been banned from the community and wish to appeal, please visit our Appeals Page for detailed instructions. On this page, you’ll find the process for submitting an appeal, including the required information and guidelines for presenting your case. Appeals are reviewed on a case-by-case basis by our leadership team to ensure a fair and thorough evaluation. Keep in mind that submitting an appeal does not guarantee reinstatement, but it provides an opportunity to share your side of the story and request reconsideration. Please be respectful, honest, and provide as much relevant information as possible to support your appeal.

During discussions regarding rule violations, we will not entertain shifting blame onto others or discussing unrelated incidents involving other members. Pointing fingers or using excuses like, “Well, so-and-so did this three months ago,” does not justify your own behavior or give you the right to break rules. Each situation is evaluated based on its own merits.

Trying to deflect attention onto others not only undermines the process but also hinders your opportunity to address your own actions constructively. Focus on resolving the situation at hand, and if you see rule-breaking behavior in the future, report it appropriately rather than using it as a defense later on.

Contacting mods

Understand that leadership may not catch every single rule infraction, and if an issue was not reported, it likely went unnoticed. Our team relies on community members to help uphold the standards and report concerns when they arise. If you see or hear something that makes you or others uncomfortable please report it. Together we can keep our community safe.

Report any issues to a member of leadership or via 👮│𝗠𝗢𝗗-𝗥𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧 right away that needs to be made aware of and/or addressed to ensure the safety and happiness of the entire community.
